PHOTO VOLTAIC
Ecologic Energy Management - WFG Schwäbisch Hall.

The Task

The cooperation with WFG is a continuous research process in the field of photo voltaic. Goal of the project „Solar Hohenlohe Aktiv“ is the promotion of renewable energies. We analyze the efficient control of energy generation from discontinuous sources. The first task was the realization of a multivendor monitoring system for photo voltaic installations including web-based data evaluation and monitoring.

The Solution

So far we have developed conjointly with WFG a remote monitoring system photo voltaic installations in the course of the project, where data acquisition is based on the LON-Technology and Embedded Linux. Error messages and earning rates can be directly read from any location. The message is generated via a GPRS transmitter and transferred by email and SMS to a data base that can be accessed by anyone interested. The management of the installations is realized using an especially secured web interface.

Customer Benefits

The networking of the individual energy sources is independent from platform and vendor. Failures are immediately detected and can be localized promptly.

The emerging potentials are alluring:

Regenerative energy sources such as wind power or solar energy are subject to external influences we are not able to master. As energy is difficult to store high losses constantly arise. Networking a multitude of autonomous sources of renewable energies could be the remedy. So far we exclusively use our networking technology for data acquisition. The next step would be the decentralized, intelligent control of the individual installations. To realize a somehow virtual power plant being supplied by many small-sized network power plants is the long-term goal. The energy generated could be used where it is currently needed.

We keep busy with this issue at a multitude of events within the Schwäbisch Hall County. Topics of conjoint symposia with WFG are renewable energies and energy savings. If interested you’ll find the event schedule in our Calendar.
