The TCP/IP protocol represents the compendium of the more than 500 net protocols creating the basis for worldwide communication via the Internet. Our work is geared to the TCP/IP reference model, describing configuration and interaction of network protocols from the Internet protocol family and structuring them in four layers building up on each other. Each layer has specific functions and realizes the segmentation of the different problems and tasks caused by communication via computer networks.
